Spud harvest is over. Mostly we just hung out, which is not very exciting. Read books, watched general conference, etc. My SIL and her family stopped in on their way back from Yellowstone, which was nice (a number of our kids match up in age). But mostly we were just here, and now everyone is going back today. And it's cold now! Fall sure doesn't last long in Idaho.

I did drive out one day up the 20 to take a few river pictures. We always drive over the Fall River (ie the one that starts in Yellowstone that we hiked along a couple weeks ago), and it's never a good time to stop and look at it. And taking pictures at 65 mph doesn't always work. So here are a few. What I always find interesting about it are the way the whole riverbed is lined with basalt columns.

Then on the way back I stopped in St. Anthony. The Henry's Fork River runs through St. Anthony (I presume the Fall River deposits into it just upstream). The Henry's Fork is BIG. It starts big and just keeps it up all the way. And St. Anthony has this park that's on an island in the middle. Any of the branches that go around this island could be a full river unto itself. It's really pretty, although there are warning signs everywhere. They've had university students drown there, so it's not exactly the place to play in. Nice to look at, though.
