End of school
May. 20th, 2011 08:31 amMan, the end of school sure is pressurized! Today's schedule makes me want to curl up in a fetal position and start moaning. The elementary school has field day this afternoon--only, my kindergartener is a morning kid. So for her to go to field day, I have to pick her up at 11 and bring her back (and attend myself) at 11:30. I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to keep the 2YO entertained for THREE HOURS. Because the second school ends there, I've got to run with all available kids to the science show at the middle school, which is across town, behind a construction maze. That is from 2:30-3:00. Then I've got to take all available kids home and figure out something to eat before we have to go to the high school for son 1's orchestra concert. My husband has twenty thousand things due on Monday, so I will probably drop off son and violin, then go back to get husband. (And maybe even bring him back to his office after the concert, we'll see.)
I did make some progress on actual chapter text yesterday, though. I've been putting the story together, and while I still don't feel like that first chapter is there yet, I'm making progress. I know there is the "just write" methodology, but I find that if the opening chapters are set basically right, I can't get the rest of the story to follow. And this one is going to be tricky.
Good luck, everyone, on surviving the end of school!
