1. Ooh, bookiness! The ILL/purchase orders I placed a couple months ago are starting to come in. So two of the books that were in for me today happen to be ones I now own. But hey, they're the kind of book the library needed to own, anyway (PLAIN KATE and THE BRILLIANT FALL OF GIANNA Z). I am transforming the MG/YA area one request at a time...:) And I don't own THE GRIMM LEGACY by Polly Shulman, so I'm delighted that the library has purchased it for me. I mean, for all of the deserving children in our town. Of course.

2. Ooh! Ooh! Trace amounts of asphalt visible! Oh, wait. It's snowing again.

3. The 2YO has been complaining that his belly button hurts. Having already gone through the whole appendicitis thing with my husband a couple years ago, this naturally makes me nervous. (The pain usually starts around the belly button.) He doesn't have any of the other symptoms, though, which include excessive sleepiness. If there is an illness involves excessive WAKEFULNESS and belly buttons, however, I'm all ears.

4. I think all of the Christmas-related orders I've placed lately are lost in the mail. Cool that the USPS now has a tracking system...however, it doesn't seem to actually work. Either that, or my stuff is going a REALLY circuitous route. Los Angeles to Reno back to Los Angeles...on the way to Idaho? Really??

5. It's been the Week of Being Thwarted While Trying to Write--but ah! A few quiet moments, and I'm back in the story. I am holding so many ideas in my head that I just want to sit down and write commando style--NOW! Alas, the rest of my life is not set up that way. But I'm off to get more of it down before people start losing it again.

Something like 1700 words today--and in not very much time! Must stop now, though--the brain must be wide awake to deal with physics. 'Night!
