(The snowmen are from the first batch of snow--the rest fell later, and is cold and dusty and has partly buried some of the smaller snow creations.)
Well, the blizzard didn't end up dumping much snow on us, and while the winds were high and constant, well, in eastern Idaho the winds are ALWAYS high and constant. And this place, unlike several we've lived in, has the sense to put the power lines underground. So we were all well and warm. We aren't driving anywhere anytime soon...but then again, we don't need to, either. Besides, the high today was 7. With a -14 windchill. Brr!
What I did do was work on plot threads and make sure my first few chapters have everything they need to set up the story. I'll have to make several more passes, of course--but I'm trying to get this from a pile of exploratory scenes to a real, continuous first draft. And I have captive beta readers in the house with me, looking for entertainment. So mostly that's what I've been working on.
I think I'd better get working on pie for tomorrow, though!
