The sky is dark and the trees are all blowing at an angle, and sure enough, we have spitballs coming down. The kids were somewhat disappointed when they looked outside this morning and found no snow. But when I drove up the hill to bring DH to work, the wheat fields were speckled with white. The snow stopped halfway down the hill. Funny how a difference that slight would still mark a snow line.
Have any of you used interlibrary loan at your local public libraries? I'm thinking the long wait has to do with the fact that many of the books I requested are new releases. Yes, I know. Buy more books. But I seriously do not have room in my house for every book I want to read, and requests for children's books at my library result in a purchase request, anyhow. And after the Scholastic book fair, I'm broke. But there are so many books I want to read, and I just can't seem to get them from any library. Maybe I should try ILL through the university. Maybe that would be faster. I'm still waiting to find out whatever happened to Colin in Connie Willis's Blackout/All Clear, and at this rate I won't find out for another year.
Ooh. Very plinky rain/snow/ice gunk coming down. I'm glad I got my errands run already! Hopefully everyone will be happy and I can get some writing done. I'm due to submit to my crit group on Monday and all I've been able to do so far is make marginal notes on what I want to add in to my very firstest of drafts. Most of my "writing time" has involved microwaving egg after egg this week. And having PMB enthusiastically walk on me. And beat me with books about construction vehicles. I'm sure glad he loves books! But yanno...a little less beating would be nice.
Hopefully the rest of you are having a good writing day!
