booksigning
Oct. 23rd, 2010 01:02 pmStill no writing--now DH and I are both sick. Something about PMB wanting to sleep eyeball to eyeball with us. He's still hoarse but is getting a little better. Today I do need to work on Halloween costumes, though. Yesterday I made fair progress until It Was Time to pry kids off the computer and take them out of the house. We went to a booksigning by Brandon Mull and Brandon Dorman (illustrator of his own books, plus the covers of Brandon Mull's, plus the covers of Savvy and Scumble). The store closed at 5 pm and we got up there at about 4:57. The kids had never been to anything like that before, and were properly impressed with the author, the illustrator, the bookstore, etc. (Personally I'm impressed with the bookstore, too. The YA section isn't big--but it has tremendous variety, and carries many books by large houses that some chains have chosen not to stock. Which is too bad for them, because I know where I'm taking my business.)
Now, back to costumes. If I can get PMB to settle down and stop bringing me eggs from the fridge. Why is it that I can make perfectly delectable things like enchiladas (non spicy), and all my kids want to eat are horrible things like microwaved eggs??
