midnight movies
Jun. 30th, 2010 04:02 pmI went with my sisters-in-law to see Eclipse last night. I have issues with that book (starting with a strong desire to slap the main character for getting to the engaged stage and still not being sure which boy she's more in love with? Hello?), but it seemed a good chance to leave kids home and do a girl thing. Man, the line was long!! Unfortunately we got stuck in the front row, and also in front of a whole row of incredibly annoying guys. You know, the kind who are vulgar and sexist and loud and inconsiderate of other human beings, and who don't even realize how badly they are embarrassing themselves. And that was before the movie even began. Ah, well. Anyway, it's really amazing how tall characters look when you are sitting at the bottom of a movie screen! I don't remember Bella's chin being quite so elongated the last time I saw one of these movies... I thought they did a nice job of adapting the book to film, and RPattz got some Visine and didn't look quite as constipated as usual (he even smiled once or twice!) Still, IMO the movie makes me cheer for Jacob, not Edward (what do he and Bella have in common again?).
Still--a fun night out. The movie I'm really excited to see is Harry Potter, though. And Narnia. It's going to be a good movie year!
