In which I max out my library card
May. 4th, 2010 09:56 pmYep. When I went to check out the books I had on hold (including Blackout, by Connie Willis), the computer informed me that I had 50 books out and had reached my limit. I didn't think I had that many out...but when I said yes, print out the list, it went on...and on...and on. A number of them were board books for PMB, and another handful for Second Son (aka Bookworm, the reviewer). Still.
Then someone else came to view the house tonight and so I spent most of the day trying to pack away stuff in the girls' room and yet clean things for the prospective renters. Which um, makes for a crabby me (ie, you can't have it both ways--you can't pack AND clean, and when you try, you'll only get crabby--especially when little people are dumping out everything you've just sorted while little bit bigger people are violating your no-cooking-before-house-showings order and burning cooked playdough on the stove). I was SO glad when DH came home and suggested I pick up a take and bake pizza and maybe wander Walmart a bit on my own and pick up stuff for oldest son's field trip sack lunch. I got back just as the prospectives were leaving, which meant I didn't even have to deal with it.
All I want to do is crawl into bed, but I still have one more thing to take care of--playing Tooth Fairy, which involves coming up with a comic strip of my own making. I JUST did one for the same child, but her teeth are all so close together that once one comes out, all the others seem to come out down the row, too. She's only in 2nd grade, but she's already losing her eye teeth and a molar. Is that not weird? Her permanent teeth are right there underneath, so it's not that her mouth isn't ready. But I thought this didn't happen until 4th-5th grade.
Anyway. Off to try to wring a little creativity out of my head now...
