A thousand words gone. A section I really, really liked.
I can accomplish it in a small paragraph.
Sniff. But if it helps the book someday exist beyond my hard drive, I'll save it for a someday outtakes file on the web site.
Now I just have one more major thread to deal with. My readers want more of a standoff between two girls who both like the same guy. My MC wins, of course--but they want more of a solid win. It's a subplot and not the main plot, so I've really got to think about how to do this with maximum effect and minimum wordage.
Then it's query writing time. I think I'm getting worse, not better, at writing queries. Argh.
