While I applaud the many who are giving up Farmtown or whatever it's called in favor of writing this month, I think that I personally would be better served by fasting from my kids' weird music, played on a stuttering CD player. This is Day 4 of snow, and while I do like the Dog Train CD, I think I'm going to LOSE MY MIND if I have to hear it one more time!!

parents: a child's view
Feb. 1st, 2010 09:03 pmMy kids obviously have their own views of their parents. Little Sweetie was watching The Nutcracker and when the Sugar Plum Fairy and her man pranced on stage, she squealed, "That's Mommy and Daddy!!" Yep, I look JUST like that after giving birth to five kids--and DH and I dance all night once the kids are in bed, lol.
Then I was browsing the YA shelves at the library with my 9YO today and we walked by the shelf with all the books to help you on your ACTs/SATs, etc. Son looked at the books and then said, "So Mom, did you ever make it to college?"
Um. Hellobachelorsdegreesemesterabroadmastersdegree?? I read like, Stephen Hawking to you for bedtime stories? What part of educated did we miss here?
Good thing the kids don't know what we REALLY do--shh, I've gotta go intercept messages for my secret spy group. Then I'm going to iron the superhero suits before going to bed.
