I like it! Yay!
My revision is just about done for my crit group. There is one small exchange I'd like to put in, but barring that, it's done for now. And I like it! Revisions never end, but this time I think I did a lot. From my first draft to this one, I've cut well over 30k (it's 30k shorter than the original draft, but I've added a lot of new things in, too). I've given my MC a lot of feeeeeeeeelings. I've learned what a plot is (ie, a character's actions and the resulting complications). I've learned to pay attention to prose. I've certainly done more research on the history of Charleston than I ever did for my master's program!
( Some pictures of where I've been mentally )
I now have two totally different characters from two totally different books, and I feel that even though they certainly have elements of me, they are NOT me, but separate people minding their own business. I even like them! Hopefully someone other than me wants to read these books someday, but for right now I am pleased with them.
