Great timing, if I do say so myself.
Oct. 8th, 2009 09:32 pmWhen the weather radio went off for three different alarms during dinner, I figured it was time to go pick up DH (usually he walks home), whether or not he was done. The air was that sauna humid stillness that is usually a portent of Violent Weather, but it hadn't hit yet. So we bundled into the car and drove off. We got him, came home, and walked into the house from the garage just as the city tornado sirens went off. Turns out there were only a couple different rotating clouds, no funnels to the ground, but the rain started as well, and there's a ton of flash flooding right now. Not anything I remotely want to drive in. So now we've finished dinner, listened to the weather report on a variety of stations, watched fantastic amounts of rain come down, and sent everyone calmly off to bed. (There's still a watch on until midnight or so--but we'll hope for the best.)
Completely unrelated, but I find it ironic that the one library book we can't seem to find is Shaun Tan's The Lost Thing. I'm sure it's around here somewhere--probably lost in the morass of the boys' room. For now, however, it is Lost.
