Ice cream!
Jul. 15th, 2009 05:52 pmMan, that was a close call! As a matter of summer entertainment, I thought we could make ice cream. So I looked up an almond fudge recipe, as well as strawberry gelato (gelato is the BEST INVENTION EVER). Loaded the ice cream mixer. Turned it on.
Nothing happened.
Ack! I tried and tried. Nothing. Oldest son practically bursts into tears and has to go to his room to calm down. (Luckily the 4-year-old was playing water outside, or she would have been just as distraught.) Tried to turn the mechanism manually, in case it was stuck. It would not move. Stuck a turkey baster in the hole to try to manually turn the thing inside. Went to show second son my frustration, and it coughed to life. Hallelujah!
Two hours later, we have two kinds of ice cream hardening in the freezer. Only thing is, now it's time to make dinner. Help?
