slow but steady progress

Two chapters revised today! I might be able to do another one tonight, depending on when people go to bed. I'm getting ever closer to having a real, finished protodraft! (The first draft will be once I pull the protodraft together and edit it the best I can before I send it to readers.) Of course, this means that I still have dishes in the sink, and still haven't come up with a good meal for tomorrow that does not depend on being done at a specific time. A friend of mine (from fourth grade!) will be in the area and is coming to dinner, but I don't know how long it will take for the plane to get in. I'd like things to be flexible. And tomorrow morning I'm supposed to hang out for the termite guys to come in and inspect. I'm sure they will make comments on the leaky bathroom. We're doing our best with it, but what needs to be done is to gut it, replace the subfloor, and put in an entirely new shower stall. Not something I'm about to do when I don't own the house.

Question: when you get picked to do one of HarperCollins's First Look reviews, they're supposed to send you an e-mail, right? I haven't gotten anything in the mail or gotten any notifications to say I'm supposed to, but when I went to check the First Look page today, it says they're waiting for my review of two different books. Yes, I signed up for them, but never heard anything afterwards. 

Now I've got to do actual work in the house, and get Lap Boy (Explorer Extraordinaire!) away from Little Sweetie's crayons. He's tried white, and now he wants the other flavors. I don't think small babies should have wax breath, though.
