I hate the kind of cold when you bend over to tie your shoes and feel like your brain is going to dribble out your nose. My throat feels like sandpaper after sleeping with that all night. Urg. I was looking forward to more reading aloud tonight. It's cold and rainy and the perfect weather to get all my kids on the bed and read. Last night we did a chapter of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, per daughters' request, then a chapter of The Hobbit, per sons' request (I never noticed the humor in it before, but the boys are chuckling away as we read). Then we did half a chapter of The Order of the Phoenix, at my suggestion, since it was still early and the boys wanted more, and we left off in the middle of Phoenix several months ago. Besides, we might as well round out the Great British Fantasy Writers of Our Times, right? Alas, I don't think I'm going to be able to do that tonight. Besides, tonight we're doing Martinstag by making lanterns and eating Martinswecken (hopefully I didn't get too many germs in the dough), and um, parading in the back yard, since no one else will know what we're doing, walking in the dark with paper lanterns in the rain.
