I'm supposed to be at church today, playing the organ for the service and later the piano for the women's meeting (for those who missed it, in the absence of anyone else, I've been asked to play for these two things as my church responsibility). Instead, I'm spending the day in bed (with the Lap Baby) because I woke up at 3 am with excruciating pain in my tailbone. Like, pain so bad I wanted to throw up, and was afraid I was going to faint. I haven't felt like this since I was in active labor. Even with a max dose of ibuprofen it still hurts, but at least I'm not shaking. I moved some boxes around a couple days ago, and it must be from that, even though yesterday I was fine.
Anyway, so I'm taking the moment of quiet to read up on local elections, since I always move just before an election and know nothing about the local candidates. The easy ones are where no one is running against them (we're talkingtotal strangers here). The hard ones are like what I found about the candidates for US congress. In each case (senator and representative), one candidate is from a major party, and one is from a tiny one. The major party guy is the incumbant, has tons of experience--and his chief issue is one I so don't agree with! The other guy has a lot of similar ideas as me--but is a university, younger than me, with no political experience (and strange life experience that isn't necessarily an asset). Ack!
I still haven't found a list of who's running for those nonpartisan jobs, like county judge and all that. Anyone know of a good, comprehensive site listing your candidates based on where you live? (The only ones I find just give national info.)
