We really are moving

I realize this today because we've dragged all our suitcases down from the attic to see what actually fits. The entire living room floor is covered, and if you've been here you know how big of a floor we have for a German apartment. It's kind of scary. It makes me want to throw away EVERYTHING, only the garbage guys haven't emptied the dumpsters yet and it was all I could do to stuff in the regular garbage today.

It's also the beginning of vacation, so it's quarter after nine and the kids are all out on the balcony, with no sign of wanting to go to bed. (It might also have something to do with having three kinds of cake quite by accident, and with an excess of candy passed around after church today. Every week is like a huge chocolate fest.)

Despite the complete chaos in the house, there's a kind of relaxed feeling around here. The baby blessing was nice today, we said goodbye to some of the people who will be leaving soon on vacation and who we won't see for a while, and now we only have moving to think about.

Yeah. "Only" moving. Can anyone teach me Hermione's special spell to pack stuff in a featherlight purse that doesn't take any room??
