Okay, I've said numerous times that I can't write to music at all. I just get way too involved in the music, even when it's wordless, and I feel like the song is controlling my writing instead of my own brain. And right now, when I'm trying to make sure my protagonist is properly protagging, I definitely can't do it.

However.

Once I get all the protagging revised and make sure all my chapters actually achieve their stated purpose and fit into the direction of the whole book, I need to pay serious attention to feeeeelings again. (And by that I guess I mean reactions, too.) And to stay in the same mood for the same feelings thread, it might just help to have some mood-appropriate music. It might not work, but I'm willing to give it a try. If nothing else, I can listen to it while I'm packing and thinking about the story, right? Listening to music when I'm thinking but not actually writing is useful/possible. So, here's what I need; any suggestions?

wistful/sad (dad died, she misses him, she sorta blames herself, and sometimes is mad at him for dying)
various love themes, ranging from wistful to great (thinking it's impossible but wishing, anyway--but not so far as the prozac songs or unhealthy relationships songs of the "haunting love songs" thread currently at Verla's)
determination in the face of opposition/other people not believing you can do something

Country and rap are out, but anything else would work (language doesn't matter, either--words are optional, for that matter).
