Happy New Year!
Dec. 31st, 2007 06:42 pmMy husband is home!! We all went to meet him at the airport. He said it was weird going to America and coming home to Germany. We'll have to see what, if anything, results from the interviews. But it's so nice to have him back!! Also, he brought books in English! I'm reading Nancy Farmer's newest, the Land of the Silver Apples. For some reason my mind is making lots of Iceland connections (although ancient England is slightly more cheerful than Iceland at Yuletime...)
We were going to go to a Sylvester (New Year's Eve) party at church, but DH is sick and can barely talk, plus he's wiped out, so we're home. That's fine. After all the birthdays in my family, and all the various parts of Christmas, we're exhausted by the time we get to New Year's. Usually we don't do much. We're in Germany, though, which unlike most of the US, means fireworks at midnight. (And before. And after.) We're hearing pops going off all over, and the so the neighborhood feels very celebratory. And that's a nice way to celebrate when you're tired.
I hope you all have a nice end of year, and as they say in Germany, I wish you all einen guten Rutsch (a good slide) ins 2008!
