It's after 1 pm--Christmas has begun!
Dec. 24th, 2007 04:09 pmBut I was in town this morning. Wow. Streets and stores were packed. Listen, any of you with book deals--make sure you sell German rights. I saw a lot of Blueboarders' books on prominent tables in the bookstore, and I could hardly get the stroller through the crowds. Nearly every cash register (and there were a lot) had totals over 100 Euro. Germans buy books!
Also, I had to take a last walk through the medieval market. We saw the coolest Santa outfit I've ever seen! Real red velvet, with those wide medieval sleeves and gold brocade. Cap lined with white fur, and a long black cape over the whole thing. And, he had this cool wooden walking staff with a top shaped like a reindeer head (they were also selling staffs with clawed ends holding Sauron-worthy crystal balls, if that gives you any idea of the scope of things). I wish I'd had the camera!
We have a light dusting of snow, and all is quiet. Happy silent night!
