Some pictures
Dec. 17th, 2007 11:47 amFirst, Nikolaustag (St. Nicholas Day, or Dec 6). Everybody got a chocolate Santa (Nikolaus), a nutcracker, a handful of gummy bears, and together we all shared the smoking man. You put a scented candle in his innards and he "smokes."

Next, our local Christmas market, not anywhere as big or famous as Nurnberg's, but nice all the same. This is the regular one; I still have to go back to the medieval one. I didn't get good pictures last year.

The interior of the church my son's school music concert was held in. (Sorry, Sarah--I forgot we do have this nice church in town, or I would have showed you...)

And the concert itself (my son is small and is unfortunately hidden behind some of the adult musicians--oh, well):

Finally, I may be really wimpy, but it is COLD here. I know, -4 C is not much below freezing. But when there's a stiff wind and you don't have a car, it means you are hauling food and presents in that cold wind for hours. Even a down-lined coat is not enough. And this is just Germany! I just pray we never end up living in Iceland or Sweden.
