She's home!!
Oct. 4th, 2007 04:14 pmThree smiles met me when I walked in DD's room today. My daughter was slated to come home today, the 13-year-old tomorrow, and the 20-year-old on Saturday. It was definitely the party atmosphere. They must have celebrated last night; the room was also full of inflated purple surgical gloves-turned elephants, courtesy of the hot male night nurse. (He also pumped the beds up as high as they would go so they all looked like tree houses. I have a feeling that the coloring-causes-brain-damage nurse and him probably don't get along well.)
Anyway, so all DD needed was one more blood test, which took 10 minutes the other day. Unfortunately, the removed the IV yesterday, which meant they had to stick her all over again. Let's just say that people in the next town heard the anticipatory screams. Glad that's over! It took another FIVE HOURS before they ran the tests and we got official doctor clearance to leave, by which time my daughter was climbing all over her bed.
The house is a wreck, DH is sacked out on the couch in exhaustion, we're out of food in the house, and there are piles and piles of laundry. But we are all very happy to have our kid back home!
