For some reason I don't mind outlining a chapter once I have most or all of the material written in it. Where does this fit in the book, where's the rising action, where do I need to focus more? That's editing/revision; that's fun. I was up late doing that last night, and when I get a chance I think my chapter is going to go much more smoothly. No way could I do that before writing it, though. The thought makes me ill.
Unfortunately, that's not the only thing making me feel ill today. I hate it when it's unseasonably warm and you suddenly realize all your kids have grown out of last summer's clothes, so you rush to the store with your toddler (on public transit) and as soon as you walk in the door and have found the first t-shirt, your child throws up all over the entryway. And continues to throw up for the entire long, hot walk home (preferable to throwing up in a full bus, you see).
I hate it when that happens. And I still have to pick up a child from kindergarten. This is going to be such a fun day.
