more progress--and not
May. 4th, 2007 11:05 pm1241 new words today, AND a finished chapter! (First draft "finished," but it's still progress.) I'm still at the implement-already-written-scenes-into-new-stuff stage, so once I take care of the rest of my half-written chapters things will move more slowly, but it's nice to feel I've gotten somewhere today.
On the other hand, I spent the morning listing every scene in the other book to see what I could hack out. It was depressing. I think I'll put it up until I'm done with this first draft and revise it while this one sits. I think I have a problem with seeing too many characters' stories at once. They all have their stories, but I can only TELL one of them at a time. And that's hard.
Less is more.
Less is more.
If I keep saying it, I just might figure out how to do it.
