Why women use more words for colors

Husband and son have  been quite intrigued by this this week: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06256/721190-114.stm.

Back in the days of doing linguistic grad school stuff, it came up that women in general use a lot more words to describe colors than men do. For some women, there may be a genetic Supervision reason.

progress

Woohoo! 2068 words today! Okay, that comes after a huge number of days where my word count was 300 or less, but it still feels good to end a chapter. I'm writing out of order, somewhat, because if I wait too long before getting to the good stuff, I lose the inspiration. I can do the carrot dangle for awhile, but not too long, and now was the time.

If only writing was all like this--the high of the story flying out your fingers, not the low of long waits and rejections. Five queries out on the other project. I wonder if, after New Year's resolutions are used up, if agents have now decided to stop responding at all?
