1293 words today and counting! And it's only 2:30 pm. A full night's sleep does WONDERS for mental processes!
Okay, so it's mostly dreck, but since I have a tendency to write loooooong, I know that a lot of that will get cut, anyway, and I'll be glad for it. I can see plenty of places to rip stuff out, but I think I want to be deeper into the story before doing that. I don't want to break up the flow.
I get excited when I reach my 1000-word goal. I figure I can waffle for 500, but any more words than that force me to actually say something. I could never write for X minutes a day. I'd spend the time staring at the screen, or (said with a guilty look) blogging. Not to mention the fact that with four kids, there's no such thing as a solid hour alone. But I can fit 1000 words in nicely between explaining the math homework and going over the words for forest wildlife for Heimat und Sachurkunde (Homeland and Science Studies).
Three oldest are at the playground, the littlest is napping, and husband is home, taking a breather between conference and upcoming semester. Back to the story!
